Welcome to the World of

6M Technology!

What started this whole project off was a dream I had when I was in Germany earlier this year.

That and the fact that I felt Toy Biz dropped the ball with the FC line when it came to the articulation of the figures. They seemed stiff and without life to me. I loved them but they seemed to lack the potential kinetic energy of say the Marvel Legends line. I picked up a Daredevil 12" figure and was disappointed again. It too seemed to lack the articulation that I was hoping for. The only figures that seemed to have it together were the Marvel Legends line, but they didn't have real cloth costumes! ;-)

People who have visited this site know that I am always in the process of finding was to improve upon the Famous Covers basic figures. Wheter it be modified heads or new sets of replacement hands, I've always strived to find ways to tweak the standard design.

What happened was that in my jet lag induced haze I came up with a method for creating a ball joint for the FC figures. With the inspiration that struck me during this dream still running through my veins, I thought to myself "why not take this farther?"

How far could I go to get the articulation I wanted yet still maintain the look and feel of the original Famous Covers figure?

I took ideas from here and there. Blair's intial work on the Exchange-o-head process, Tung's body modifications, cues from the Toy Biz Marvel Legends figures, and a host of other influences. I then spent the past few months experimenting with different methods and designs to achieve what I felt was that delicate balance of form & function.

The result is to be found within this section of the P:C website. Look around, let me know what you think. The beauty of this system is that the modifications can be done in either a little or a lot.

Welcome to my dream, and what I feel might have been the next step in the evolution of the FC line.

BTW : The 6M stands for Six Million Dollar Custom! We did rebuild them, made them cooler than they were before....
